Do Your Dishes: Conversations About Conflict With Quinne Duhr
August 30 – November 29, 2021

WHAT IS IT?

Put simply, Do Your Dishes: Conversations About Conflict With Quinne Duhr is a podcast about conflict, and, in a way, it’s also this website. In my final semester at Grand Valley State University, I am working on this 15-week senior project designed to utilize and expand upon what I’ve learned in my undergraduate studies thus far. Thanks for being here to follow along!

CENTRAL IDEA AND RATIONALE FOR THE PROJECT

With this project, I would like to gain a deeper understanding of conflict as it exists in our daily lives. “Conflict” has an aggressively negative connotation (particularly in the United States), and it is no secret that we are currently living through – and likely contributing to – a difficult, polarized piece of history. We have felt the tension in our workplaces, neighborhoods, personal relationships, and even grocery stores.

I am hoping that, with the discussions I have over the course of my project, I can broaden the scope of what conflict – both large- and small-scale – means to myself and others as well as pick up practicable tools and behaviors to tap into when it inevitably arises.
